How to Withdraw From MEXC to Tangem Before the EU Ban
A step-by-step guide to safely withdrawing crypto from MEXC exchange to a Tangem Wallet.
MEXC does not hold a MiCA authorization and, as of 1 July 2026, cannot legally offer exchange services to EU and EEA residents. The platform remains technically accessible from most EU countries for now, but regulatory trackers classify it as operating in breach of EU law for EU users post-deadline. Geoblocking or withdrawal-only access is the expected next step.
If your crypto is still sitting on MEXC, moving it to self-custody is the right call. This guide walks through every step, from copying your Tangem Wallet address to confirming the transfer arrived.
Don't have Tangem yet? Setup takes 1 to 3 minutes, and the app is free on iOS and Android.
Before You Start Withdrawing From MEXC
Before sending, check the three basics. Plan a 5 USDT test transfer before moving a full balance.
Self-custody means you, not MEXC, control the private keys. When keys live on an exchange, the exchange controls the assets. Moving to Tangem puts that control back in your hands.
Here's the checklist:
- Tangem app installed on your phone (iOS 16.0+ or Android 6.0+ with NFC support).
- MEXC account with KYC completed, and 2FA enabled (email, SMS, or Google Authenticator)
KYC matters here. MEXC requires at least Primary KYC before withdrawals are enabled. Without it, the withdrawal option won't appear. If you haven't completed verification, do so in the MEXC app before continuing.
Step 1: Open Tangem and Copy Your Wallet Address
Open the Tangem app and tap the coin you want to receive. Every coin has its own receiving address, and you need the address for the specific token and network you're withdrawing.
Tap Add funds -> Receive, then copy the QR-coded text address to your clipboard. Use it for a 5 USDT test transfer before sending a larger amount.
That address is your public key for this token. It's safe to share. The private key never leaves the Tangem card's secure element.
One important detail: generate the network address you plan to use on MEXC. If you're withdrawing USDT via BNB Smart Chain, you need the BEP-20 address in Tangem, not the ERC-20 one. Step 2 covers how to choose.
Step 2: Select the Correct Network
A network mismatch can make the transfer permanently inaccessible.
Here's why: each blockchain network operates independently. A token sent on Ethereum cannot automatically appear on BNB Smart Chain. The network you select on MEXC must match the network you used to generate the Tangem address.
The table below shows the most common coins, a recommended network for MEXC withdrawals, and approximate fees. Always confirm the live fee on MEXC's Withdraw page before sending, since fees are dynamic.
| Coin | Recommended Network | Approx. Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| USDT | BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) | ~0.5-0.8 USDT | Cheapest common option; avoid ERC-20 unless required |
| USDT | TRC-20 (TRON) | ~1 USDT | Also, low-cost; check Tangem supports TRON |
| ETH | Arbitrum One | Lower than mainnet | Layer 2: confirm Tangem has an Arbitrum address ready |
| BTC | Bitcoin | ~0.0002 BTC | Only one native network |
| USDC | BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) | ~0.5-0.8 USDT | Same logic as USDT |
ERC-20 USDT on Ethereum is significantly more expensive and should only be used if your destination wallet specifically requires it.
The Tangem app supports 91+ blockchain networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, TRON, and TON. Before selecting a network on MEXC, confirm Tangem has generated an address for that same network.
Step 3: Initiate Withdrawal on MEXC
On the MEXC website, click Wallets in the top-right navigation, then click Withdraw.
In the MEXC mobile app, tap Wallets, then Withdraw, and select On-chain Withdrawal.
Fill in the form:
- Coin: select the asset you're withdrawing (e.g., USDT)
- Withdrawal address: paste the address you copied from Tangem
- Network: choose the network that matches your Tangem address (e.g., BEP-20)
- Amount: enter how much to send; the form shows the fee and the amount that will arrive
- Memo/Tag: only required for certain coins (XRP, XLM, TON); leave blank if the form doesn't ask
Double-check the address before clicking Submit. Paste it, then read the first four and last four characters against what's shown in the Tangem app. One wrong character sends funds to an address no one controls.
Click Submit, then complete the security verification step: MEXC will ask for your email code, SMS code, and/or Google Authenticator code depending on how your 2FA is configured.
Step 4: Confirm and Verify
After passing the security check, MEXC generates a transaction ID (TxID) within 1 to 60 minutes. The time to confirm a blockchain transaction then depends on the network and congestion.
Open the Tangem app. Once the blockchain confirms the transfer to your address, the balance is automatically updated. You don't need to do anything inside Tangem to "receive" the funds. The app reads your balance directly from the blockchain.
If you want to track the transfer in real time, the Tangem app can link to a blockchain explorer where you can enter the TxID from MEXC and watch confirmations.
No update after 60 minutes? Check the TxID on a block explorer first. If MEXC hasn't yet broadcast the transaction, their Help Center has a Withdrawal Appeal Form in the Self-Service section.
MEXC Withdrawal Fees
Fees vary by asset and network. No static fee table stays accurate. Check the live fee on each coin's Withdraw page in your account.
| Coin | Network | Approx. Fee |
|---|---|---|
| USDT | BEP-20 (BSC) | ~0.5-0.8 USDT |
| USDT | TRC-20 | ~1 USDT |
| USDT | ERC-20 | Significantly higher |
| ETH | Arbitrum One | Lower than mainnet |
| BTC | Bitcoin | ~0.0002 BTC |
Always check the live fee before confirming. One thing Tangem doesn't charge: the wallet itself has no transaction fees. You pay only the network's fee.
Tips for a Safe MEXC Withdrawal
Send a test transaction first. Before moving your full balance, send a small amount, say 5 USDT, and confirm it arrives in Tangem. This incurs an extra fee but confirms that the address, network, and process are correct before the main transfer.
Copy and paste the address. Never type a receiving address manually. Even after pasting, check the first and last four characters match what's in the Tangem app. Some malware replaces clipboard addresses.
Choose the cheapest compatible network for stablecoins. For USDT, BEP-20, and TRC-20, the fees are typically far lower than for ERC-20. The difference can be several dollars per withdrawal if you're moving smaller amounts.
If you have a large balance, consider splitting it across two or three withdrawals rather than one. MEXC's daily withdrawal limits reset 24 hours after each withdrawal, not at midnight, so plan accordingly. Primary KYC allows up to 80 BTC equivalent per rolling 24 hours; Advanced KYC raises that to 200 BTC.
Keep your backup Tangem cards in separate physical locations. If all backup cards are lost and no seed phrase was created, funds cannot be recovered by Tangem or anyone else. The security model gives you full control, which also means full responsibility.
FAQ
-
As of July 2026, MEXC remains technically accessible from most EU countries, but it holds no MiCA authorisation and is classified as operating in breach of EU law for EU users after the 1 July 2026 enforcement date. Crypto withdrawals to external wallets are still processing for now. Fiat EUR withdrawals via SEPA are available only in supported countries (including Germany, France, Spain, and Italy) for KYC-verified users, with a limit of 20,000 EUR per transaction. The situation can change without notice, so withdrawing to self-custody sooner is the lower-risk path.
-
If a withdrawal is blocked, MEXC's official Help Center instructs users to submit a Withdrawal Appeal Form via the Self-Service section. Identity documents provided there are used only for the appeal review and do not count as completing full KYC. If the block is KYC-related, completing or upgrading your verification level is the first step. Primary KYC enables withdrawals up to 80 BTC equivalent per 24 hours; Advanced KYC raises that to 200 BTC.
-
Prioritise stablecoins (USDT, USDC) and any large positions first, since these carry the most value at risk if access is restricted. Stablecoins also have cheap withdrawal options via BEP-20 or TRC-20. For smaller altcoin positions, check whether Tangem supports the relevant network before initiating the withdrawal. The Tangem app supports 16,000+ tokens across 91+ blockchains, so most assets are covered, but it's worth confirming before sending.

You can withdraw multiple assets, but each coin requires a separate withdrawal transaction. MEXC's daily limits are per-account (80 BTC equivalent for Primary KYC, 200 BTC for Advanced KYC), and limits reset 24 hours after each withdrawal rather than at midnight. If your total balance exceeds the daily limit, plan withdrawals across multiple days. There is no limit on how much value Tangem can hold, since the wallet stores private keys, not the assets themselves.

After pasting an address, compare the first four and last four characters with Tangem before submitting. Test with 5 USDT before sending more.
