OpenAI Unveils GPT-5.2 as Google Fires Back With Gemini AI
OpenAI launches GPT-5.2, offering major upgrades in reasoning, coding, and reliability, while Google debuts Gemini Deep Research, intensifying competition in advanced AI for business and crypto sectors.
OpenAI has released GPT-5.2, its most advanced language model, aiming to set new standards in reasoning, coding, and multimodal performance. The model is available in three specialized versions—Instant, Thinking, and Pro—tailored for tasks ranging from quick writing to complex research and coding. GPT-5.2 demonstrates significant improvements in scientific, mathematical, and software-related tasks, with OpenAI’s proprietary GDPval benchmark showing it matches or exceeds human performance in 71% of tested occupations. The release comes as OpenAI seeks to expand its presence in enterprise and developer workflows, offering more reliable agent workflows and production-grade code. Meanwhile, Google has launched Gemini Deep Research, a direct competitor built for deep reasoning and large-context analysis, particularly targeting the crypto and Web3 sectors. Both models focus on reducing AI hallucinations and increasing accuracy, with Gemini emphasizing autonomous research synthesis and structured reporting. These advancements are expected to transform professional workflows, especially in finance, digital assets, and blockchain, by enabling more accurate data analysis and decision-making.
