Pi Network unveils new developer tools

Pi Network has introduced three new tools to enhance its developer ecosystem: local storage, a staking data API, and native file sharing. The local storage feature enables approved apps to save user data—such as preferences and session states—directly on the user's device. This reduces reliance on external infrastructure and streamlines app development. However, this feature is limited to whitelisted apps and offers restricted storage capacity, with no assurance of data permanence. The staking data API provides developers with access to information about the amount of Pi staked specifically for their apps, allowing for more tailored user experiences. Meanwhile, the file and video sharing tool leverages the device’s native capabilities to facilitate content exchange within Pi apps. Additionally, Pi Network has unified its technical documentation, making the developer journey from app registration to launch more efficient. These updates focus on practical improvements, aiming to make the Pi ecosystem more attractive and functional for developers.
