LayerZero unveils ATLAS: Blockchain exchange for institutions
LayerZero will launch ATLAS, a blockchain exchange for institutions, in fall 2026. Built on Zero, ATLAS supports spot crypto and perpetuals, with major financial partners and market makers on board.
LayerZero has unveiled ATLAS, a blockchain-based trading and settlement platform set to launch on its Zero blockchain in autumn 2026. ATLAS is designed specifically for financial institutions, serving as core infrastructure for global markets rather than offering a consumer-facing application. At launch, ATLAS will support spot crypto assets and perpetual contracts, with plans to expand into prediction contracts, futures, and options. The platform is engineered for high throughput, targeting 200,000 transactions per second and aiming to surpass 2 million TPS in the future. ATLAS features integrated trade matching, clearing, settlement, and risk management. As a “headless” exchange, it allows third parties to build their own interfaces. Key partners include Citadel Securities, DTCC, Intercontinental Exchange, and GTE, with top market makers providing liquidity from day one. Trading fees will support LayerZero’s ZRO token via a buy-and-burn mechanism, which drove a 30% surge in ZRO’s price after the announcement. Testnet operations will begin soon.
