MoonPay has launched PayBox, an AI-powered payment vault that enables users to make payments and conduct crypto transactions directly through conversations with AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude. By connecting PayBox to these platforms via a custom connector, users can book flights, reserve restaurants, shop online, swap crypto assets, stake, and more—all within the chat interface. Transactions are prepared by the AI and require user approval via passkey, or can be automated within set spending limits. PayBox integrates crypto wallets and payment cards in a non-custodial vault, supports cross-chain transactions across Solana and EVM-compatible blockchains, and works with services using the x402 agent payment standard. Security is enhanced through multi-party computation and trusted execution environments, ensuring private keys remain inaccessible to any single party. Additional AI integrations and DeFi features are planned, highlighting AI's growing role in blockchain applications and aiming to boost engagement on platforms like Solana.
