BNB Chain unveils new Layer 1 for AI-powered trading

BNB Chain is developing a new Layer 1 for AI-driven trading, targeting sub-50ms transactions, 100,000+ TPS, and private order flow. Mainnet is planned for early 2027.

BNB Chain has unveiled plans for a new Layer 1 blockchain tailored to agentic and AI-powered trading. The mainnet launch is scheduled for early 2027, with a testnet rollout expected in late 2026. This new chain will complement the existing BNB Chain stack, aiming to achieve transaction preconfirmation times under 50 milliseconds and throughput exceeding 100,000 transactions per second. A key innovation is the elimination of the public mempool, replaced by a private transaction system called TxStream. This approach is designed to minimize front-running and sandwich attacks, enhancing security for traders. The initiative seeks to merge the speed of centralized exchanges with the transparency and self-custody benefits of blockchain technology. Recent upgrades have already doubled BNB Chain’s throughput to around 5,200 TPS, with further scaling on the horizon. The new Layer 1 is positioned as a foundational step for institutional-grade and AI-driven DeFi applications, offering a CEX-like experience without custody risks.
