Former Ethereum researchers launch Ethlabs for scaling

A group of five former Ethereum Foundation researchers have launched Ethlabs, an independent nonprofit research and development organization. The initiative is backed by Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Sharplink, Joe Lubin, and other prominent Ethereum ecosystem contributors, including Anchorage, Octant, and SNZ. Ethlabs is dedicated to preparing Ethereum for a new wave of institutional adoption. The organization will focus on scaling the network to accommodate increasing demand from stablecoins, tokenized assets, investment funds, and AI-driven commerce. Committed to Ethereum’s core principles of neutrality, censorship resistance, and security, Ethlabs will prioritize research on faster settlement, greater mainnet capacity, native asset issuance, cross-chain interoperability, and strengthening ETH’s monetary properties. The launch follows the Ethereum Foundation’s decision to narrow its focus, positioning Ethlabs as a key player in Ethereum’s future development.
