Circle’s CCTP launches on Stellar, expands USDC access

Circle’s CCTP is live on Stellar, enabling secure, native USDC transfers across 23 blockchains without wrapped tokens, boosting liquidity and interoperability.

Circle has launched its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) on the Stellar network, enabling native USDC transfers across 23 blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, and Base. This integration uses a burn-and-mint mechanism: USDC is burned on the source chain and minted on the destination chain, eliminating the need for wrapped tokens or third-party bridges. The protocol enhances security, reduces counterparty risk, and maintains a consistent USDC supply across networks. Developers, institutions, and businesses can now build programmable cross-chain payment solutions, DeFi applications, and treasury management tools directly on Stellar. CCTP supports fast, low-cost transfers and connects Stellar to a broader USDC ecosystem, improving liquidity and interoperability for wallets, apps, and services. This launch marks a significant expansion of USDC’s multi-chain presence and strengthens Stellar’s role in cross-border payments and tokenized asset settlements.
