Vitalik Buterin has introduced a short-term roadmap to boost native privacy on the Ethereum network, moving from theoretical concepts to actionable engineering. The plan highlights three main upgrades: integrating Account Abstraction (AA) with Forced Inclusion Lists (FOCIL) to enable censorship-resistant private transactions; implementing Keyed Nonces to address transaction queue issues and enhance privacy management; and improving the access layer with solutions like Kohaku and private reads to mitigate side-channel leaks. These initiatives are designed to tackle ongoing vulnerabilities such as transaction censorship and metadata leakage, making private transactions more resilient and reducing user exposure. The roadmap marks a shift in Ethereum’s priorities, emphasizing practical, modular privacy at the protocol level. The upgrades are slated for near-term deployment, notably as part of the upcoming Hegotà network upgrade, aiming to strengthen ETH’s "moneyness" and support more private activity on the mainnet.
