Telegram takes over TON: fees slashed, upgrades coming

This strategic shift was announced alongside a significant reduction in TON transaction fees, which have dropped by approximately six times to just $0.0005 per transfer, making most transactions nearly free. These changes are part of a broader technical roadmap that includes the launch of a new official website, next-generation developer tools, and substantial performance upgrades aimed at enhancing scalability and user experience. The upgrades are expected to be implemented within the next two to three weeks. Following these announcements, Toncoin experienced a price increase of about 7%, though it remains below its all-time high. The focus for TON now shifts to achieving technological superiority, with fixed, ultra-low fees and improved infrastructure to support Telegram’s extensive user base and ecosystem.
