Orbs launches DAO, shifting governance to community

Orbs launches its DAO, shifting governance and revenue allocation to the community. The DAO will oversee revenue, tokenomics, upgrades, and grants, following years of development.

Orbs has officially launched its decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), marking a pivotal shift in protocol governance and revenue allocation to its global community. This transition follows years of infrastructure development, product deployment, and regulatory planning, with a phased rollout set to begin in the coming weeks. The DAO will oversee critical aspects such as revenue allocation, tokenomics, network upgrades, validator oversight, and ecosystem grants. Orbs is introducing governance after establishing a robust foundation of products, integrations, and revenue streams, ensuring that on-chain decision-making is both meaningful and impactful. The seasonal governance model will allow priorities and allocations to adapt over time. Orbs’ suite of Layer-3 trading protocols—including dLIMIT, dTWAP, Liquidity Hub, Perpetual Hub, and dSLTP—has processed over $3 billion in cumulative trading volume and generated more than $3 million in protocol revenue. With support for over 30 decentralized exchange integrations and over 1 billion staked ORBS tokens, the first DAO votes will approve the governance framework and set initial tokenomics, marking a shift from community-backed growth to community-led decision-making.
