Aave V4 receives unanimous DAO approval
Aave DAO unanimously approved the initial ARFC for Aave V4, advancing toward Ethereum mainnet. The upgrade introduces a Hub and Spoke model and awaits a binding AIP vote after more community input.
Aave DAO has unanimously approved the initial Request for Comment (ARFC) proposal for the Aave V4 upgrade, marking a major milestone toward deploying the protocol on Ethereum mainnet. The four-day governance vote ended with 100% support from participating members, demonstrating strong community alignment. This ARFC stage is a preliminary, non-binding phase in Aave’s governance process. It allows for community feedback and refinement of technical and risk parameters before a binding onchain Aave Improvement Proposal (AIP) vote. Aave V4 will introduce a modular Hub and Spoke architecture, unifying liquidity and isolating risk. The upgrade has undergone extensive security review and will implement precise risk rules for safer lending. Next steps include finalizing the AIP, gathering further community input, and coordinating with security and risk advisors ahead of the anticipated mainnet launch later this year. The announcement has also coincided with a notable rise in AAVE token price and trading volume.
