Filecoin Unveils Decentralized Cloud for Secure, Custom Apps
Filecoin Foundation and FilOz have launched Filecoin Onchain Cloud, a decentralized platform offering verifiable storage, programmable payments, and customizable infrastructure for resilient, onchain applications.
Filecoin Foundation and FilOz have launched Filecoin Onchain Cloud, a decentralized cloud platform designed to provide verifiable storage, fast retrieval, programmable payments, and customizable infrastructure for onchain applications. Announced at Devconnect in Argentina, the launch coincided with a major Cloudflare outage, underscoring the risks of centralized infrastructure. The platform leverages the Filecoin Virtual Machine to enable smart contract-based storage and retrieval, integrates Filecoin’s verifiable storage, IPFS, Filecoin Pin, and the USDFC stablecoin, and allows users to fully own their stack. Early partners such as ENS, Safe, Monad, and Agent0 are testing decentralized DeFi frontends and auditable AI models. Filecoin Pay and Filecoin Beam facilitate onchain payments and incentivized data retrievals. The system is operational, though still in early stages, and aims to support a global network of independent storage providers, enhancing reliability, security, and adaptability for decentralized applications.
