Bhutan partners with Sei for blockchain validator launch
Bhutan partners with Sei to launch a national blockchain validator in early 2026, aiming to boost digital infrastructure, enable asset tokenization, and drive fintech innovation.
Bhutan is accelerating its digital transformation by partnering with the Sei Development Foundation to deploy a Sei blockchain validator node. This collaboration, led by Druk Holding and Investments Ltd (DHI) through its InnoTech division, is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2026. The initiative aims to strengthen Bhutan’s blockchain infrastructure, enabling the country to explore advanced digital applications such as data monetization, asset tokenization, and fintech solutions. By operating its own validator, Bhutan will gain direct control over blockchain operations, enhancing both network security and operational resilience. This project is a key part of Bhutan’s broader strategy to expand its digital economy and technological capabilities, positioning the nation as a regional leader in blockchain adoption. Both DHI and the Sei Development Foundation are committed to leveraging this partnership to unlock new economic opportunities, foster technological innovation, and integrate blockchain solutions into government-led initiatives.
