World Liberty Financial has launched a lending platform using its $3.4B USD1 stablecoin, supporting major crypto assets and planning to add real-world collateral. The firm is also developing a mobile app, debit card, and seeking a US bank charter.
World Liberty Financial has launched World Liberty Markets, a peer-to-peer lending and borrowing platform centered on its USD1 stablecoin, which has rapidly grown to a $3.4 billion market capitalization. The platform enables users to lend and borrow digital assets, supporting collateral such as Ether, tokenized Bitcoin, USDC, USDT, and the WLFI token, with plans to add tokenized real-world assets like real estate. USD1’s growth has been fueled by major transactions, including a $2 billion investment in Binance by MGX. World Liberty is also developing a mobile app and debit card for USD1, and has applied for a US bank charter to expand its services, aiming to provide digital custody and direct stablecoin swaps. The platform emphasizes onchain risk controls and transparency, seeking to offer liquidity options without requiring users to sell their crypto holdings. The launch comes amid a broader recovery in crypto credit markets and reflects World Liberty’s ambition to become a comprehensive financial platform in the digital asset sector.
