Tether’s USDT Gets Multi-Chain Regulatory Green Light in Abu Dhabi

Tether’s USDT is now recognised as an Accepted Fiat-Referenced Token in Abu Dhabi Global Market, expanding regulatory approval to nine more blockchains and enabling broader regulated use for financial activities in the region.

Tether’s USDT stablecoin has been officially recognised as an Accepted Fiat-Referenced Token (AFRT) by the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), expanding its regulatory approval to nine additional blockchains, including Aptos, Celo, Cosmos, Kaia, Near, Polkadot, Tezos, TON, and TRON. Previously, USDT was approved only on Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche. This recognition allows licensed entities in ADGM to conduct regulated activities involving USDT across these networks, enhancing liquidity, interoperability, and the diversity of blockchain infrastructure in the region. The approval follows close collaboration with the FSRA to demonstrate Tether’s compliance, transparency, and operational resilience. The move is seen as a significant step for financial inclusion and innovation, positioning ADGM as a global hub for regulated digital asset activity and strengthening USDT’s role as a reliable settlement asset for trading and decentralized applications.
