MoonPay and Dunamu partner to explore stablecoin payments

MoonPay and Dunamu will explore stablecoin payments, fund transfers, and GIWA’s global expansion. The partnership is exploratory, with no launch dates or products announced.

MoonPay and Dunamu, the parent company of Upbit, have formed a strategic partnership to explore business opportunities in stablecoin-based global payments, international fund transfers, and corporate finance solutions. The collaboration seeks to leverage MoonPay’s global financial network alongside Dunamu’s blockchain infrastructure, with a special emphasis on expanding the international reach of GIWA, Dunamu’s Ethereum Layer 2 network. Both companies will evaluate the use of stablecoins for payments and fund transfers, as well as develop strategies to increase access to GIWA-based products and services in overseas markets. The partnership is currently in the exploratory phase, with no specific launch timeline, financial terms, or supported stablecoins disclosed. This announcement coincides with Dunamu’s ongoing merger with Naver Financial and South Korea’s efforts to establish a legal framework for digital assets. No operational agreements or product launches have been announced at this stage.
