Mastercard and BVNK launch unified money platform
Mastercard and BVNK launched a platform uniting fiat and stablecoins via a single API, enabling businesses to manage, convert, and spend both forms of money, issue cards, and make local payouts globally.
Mastercard and BVNK have launched the Mastercard Global Money Platform, a unified system integrating fiat currencies and stablecoins through a single API. This platform allows banks, fintechs, and enterprises to hold, convert, send, receive, and spend both fiat and stablecoins. It also enables the issuance of stablecoin-linked cards in over 130 countries. Businesses can embed multi-currency accounts, real-time conversion, and local bank payouts into their products, streamlining money movement across traditional and digital forms. The service leverages Mastercard Move, connecting to more than 17 billion endpoints for local-currency payments. Early adopters include Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem, and Almond FinTech. The platform supports USDC and OUSD stablecoins, with eligible balances earning rewards. Mastercard aims to expand coverage to over 40 currencies and 200 countries by 2027, with future updates to include tokenized deposits and agentic commerce. This launch follows Mastercard's acquisition of BVNK in August 2026, combining their payments and stablecoin expertise.
