Samsung Wallet launches gasless USDC transfers for Galaxy
Samsung Wallet adds USDC support for 82M US Galaxy devices, enabling seamless, gasless stablecoin transfers via Solana and Sui. Bastion provides regulated custody. Expansion to more markets is planned.
Samsung Wallet is introducing stablecoin support to 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States, allowing users to send and receive USDC directly within the app. This integration utilizes the Solana and Sui blockchains, with Solana enabling seamless cross-border transfers and Sui providing gasless USDC transactions, removing network fees for users. Bastion has been chosen as the licensed custodian and infrastructure partner, ensuring regulated custody, compliance, and remittance capabilities to over 60 countries. The service is designed for simplicity, letting users manage stablecoins alongside cards and IDs without the need for separate crypto apps or handling private keys. The initial rollout supports only USDC, with plans to expand to additional markets and features as regulatory approval allows. This initiative aims to make digital dollar transfers more accessible and user-friendly for Galaxy users, with all blockchain operations managed in the background for a seamless experience.
