Visa stablecoin card volume up 200%, settlements top $20B

Visa's stablecoin card volume soared 200% YoY, with settlements over $20B. 160+ programs are live globally, supported by on-chain credit models to ease issuers' capital needs.

Visa's stablecoin-linked card programs are experiencing remarkable growth, with payment volumes surging nearly 200% year-over-year. Settlement volumes have surpassed a $20 billion annualized run rate, marking a 15-fold increase from the previous year. Currently, there are over 160 stablecoin card programs live worldwide, making this segment one of the fastest-growing in Visa's portfolio. This rapid expansion has introduced working-capital challenges for issuers, particularly for early-stage programs that require frequent, smaller-scale financing. To address these needs, Visa has partnered with Credit Coop to launch a stablecoin-denominated revolving credit facility secured by settlement receivables. The facility leverages on-chain credit models and smart contracts to automate funding and repayments, reducing borrowing costs by up to 30%. This initiative aims to make stablecoin payments more accessible and efficient, supporting the continued growth of crypto-linked card products across Visa's network.
