Bitcoin.com integrates UAE-regulated USDU stablecoin

Bitcoin.com adds USDU, a UAE-regulated stablecoin, to its wallet, allowing users to hold, send, and receive USDU with transparency and control. More payment features are planned.

Bitcoin.com has integrated USDU, a UAE-regulated, USD-backed stablecoin, into its self-custodial web and mobile wallets through a partnership with Universal Digital Intl. Limited. USDU is the first and only registered Foreign Payment Token under the Central Bank of the UAE’s Payment Token Services Regulation, and is regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority in Abu Dhabi Global Market. Each USDU token is backed 1:1 by liquid U.S. dollar reserves held with regulated UAE banks, with monthly independent attestations published for transparency. The stablecoin operates as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and its smart contract has undergone an independent audit. Users can now hold, send, and receive USDU while maintaining full control of their private keys. Bitcoin.com will accept USDU for select services and plans to enable payments between users and merchants, with swap and buy/sell features to follow as third-party support becomes available. The partnership also includes a joint education program on regulated stablecoins.
