Tether’s XAU₮ token gains Shariah certification for gold

Tether’s XAU₮ token is now Shariah-certified, confirming its compliance with Islamic finance. Each token represents physical gold in Swiss vaults, enabling compliant digital gold access for Islamic banks and investors.

Tether’s gold-backed digital asset, XAU₮, has received Shariah compliance certification from Amanah Advisors, confirming its alignment with Islamic finance principles. Each XAU₮ token represents direct ownership of physical gold securely stored in Swiss vaults, ensuring transparent reserves and excluding interest, leverage, or speculative derivatives. This certification enables Islamic banks, takaful providers, and investors to access digital gold products, halal savings, and compliant collateralization through blockchain technology. XAU₮ is issued by TG Commodities and has been recognized by major Shariah screening services, though some operational concerns remain. The approval supports XAU₮’s expansion in Islamic finance markets across the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, and globally. Tether and Amanah Advisors continue to collaborate on governance guidelines to foster broader Shariah-compliant adoption.
