Tether invests $7M in Pact Labs for US payroll stablecoin
Tether led a $7M Series A in Pact Labs to expand USA® stablecoin into US payroll and payments, aiming for real-time wage access and broader stablecoin utility.
Tether has led a $7 million Series A funding round in Pact Labs, joined by Blockchange Ventures and Lasagna. The goal is to accelerate the adoption of USA® (USAT), a US-focused stablecoin, in the American payroll and payments sector. This investment aims to integrate USA® into enterprise payroll platforms, targeting the $11 trillion US payroll market. The initiative offers blockchain-powered, real-time wage payments and financial services, helping businesses bypass delays and costs of traditional payment systems. Pact Labs will serve as a core infrastructure provider, enabling instant wage movement and digital wallet integration. USA® is designed for U.S. regulatory compliance and everyday financial activities. Pact Labs has facilitated nearly $2 billion in loan volumes and serves over 500,000 users through fintech partners. Tether’s move marks a strategic shift to expand stablecoin use beyond trading, focusing on real-world payroll and payments.
