Nium and Coinbase launch global USDC payments and cards

Nium and Coinbase have launched global USDC payments, enabling cross-border transactions, fiat payouts in 190+ countries, and stablecoin-funded card programs for real-world spending.

Nium has partnered with Coinbase to integrate USDC stablecoin payments into its global payments platform. This enables clients to send, receive, and convert USDC across more than 190 countries, leveraging over 40 regulatory licenses. The integration, now live, uses Coinbase's infrastructure for custody, liquidity, and wallet services. Businesses can settle transactions in stablecoins or local currencies, eliminating the need for costly prefunded accounts. This supports just-in-time settlement, reducing capital lock-up and operational complexity in cross-border payments. Additionally, the partnership enables stablecoin-funded card programs on Visa and Mastercard, allowing real-world spending of digital dollars. By embedding stablecoins into global payment infrastructure, the collaboration aims to streamline international transactions, improve liquidity management, and position stablecoins as a mainstream solution for efficient, scalable, and flexible global payments.
