Tether’s USAT stablecoin passes Deloitte audit

Tether’s USAT stablecoin passed its first Deloitte audit, confirming $17.6M in reserves—more than its supply. This sets a new transparency standard and meets strict U.S. regulations.

Tether’s USAT stablecoin has achieved a major transparency milestone with the release of its first reserve attestation. Conducted by Deloitte and published by Anchorage Digital Bank, the audit confirmed that USAT is fully backed by $17.6 million in reserves—exceeding its circulating supply of 17.5 million tokens by about 0.6%. The reserves consist of cash and U.S. Treasury-backed assets, all held in segregated fiduciary trust accounts under federal oversight. USAT was launched in January 2026 to comply with new U.S. regulatory requirements, including those set by the GENIUS Act, and is designed for institutional use. Deloitte’s audit involved a thorough review of bank statements, custody structures, and blockchain records. This sets a new standard for transparency and regulatory compliance in the stablecoin sector, marking a significant step for Tether as global stablecoin circulation nears $300 billion.
