Fidelity unveils regulated dollar-backed stablecoin FIDD

Fidelity launches FIDD, a regulated, dollar-backed stablecoin on Ethereum, offering daily transparency and broad DeFi interoperability for retail and institutional users.

Fidelity has introduced its first stablecoin, the Fidelity Digital Dollar (FIDD), on the Ethereum blockchain. FIDD is fully backed 1:1 by the U.S. dollar and is available to both retail and institutional investors via Fidelity’s crypto platforms and major exchanges. Issued by Fidelity Digital Assets, FIDD’s reserves consist of cash and short-term U.S. Treasuries. The stablecoin offers predictable liquidity and daily transparency reports, operating within a regulated framework established by the GENIUS Act of July 2025, and aligns with U.S. banking standards to address previous regulatory uncertainties. FIDD can be purchased or redeemed at a fixed 1:1 rate for U.S. dollars and transferred to any Ethereum mainnet address, enabling seamless interaction with DeFi protocols and third-party wallets. This launch marks Fidelity’s major entry into the stablecoin market, bridging traditional finance and blockchain payments.
