In Q4 2025, Tether Holdings Ltd. made a landmark acquisition of 27 metric tons of gold, valued at approximately $4.4 billion. This move marked one of the largest single-quarter gold purchases by a private entity, significantly impacting Tether's reserve strategy. By December 31, 2025, Tether Gold reported 520,089.350 fine troy ounces of physical gold backing 520,089.300 XAU₮ tokens, maintaining a strict 1:1 ratio.
