USD1 stablecoin surpasses PayPal’s PYUSD in market cap

USD1 stablecoin has overtaken PayPal’s PYUSD in market cap, reaching $4B. Driven by utility, partnerships, and a Binance airdrop, USD1’s rise marks a major shift in the stablecoin sector.

USD1, the stablecoin issued by World Liberty Financial, has surpassed PayPal’s PYUSD in market capitalization, signaling a notable shift in the stablecoin sector. Announced by Eric Trump, USD1’s market cap now stands at approximately $4 billion, outpacing PYUSD’s $3.7 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. USD1’s rapid growth is fueled by its expansion across exchanges, merchant payment rails, and digital-asset platforms, as well as integration with lending and borrowing markets. A recent $40 million WLFI airdrop by Binance has further boosted USD1’s adoption and trading activity. Unlike PYUSD, which is closely tied to PayPal’s network, USD1 has prioritized crypto-native distribution and partnerships, leading to steady growth and broader usage. This milestone highlights a trend where real-world utility and integration are becoming more decisive than corporate branding in the stablecoin market.
