Obex Secures $37M to Launch RWA-Backed Stablecoin Incubator
Obex raised $37M to launch a 12-week incubator for real-world asset-backed stablecoins, with up to $2.5B in USDS support from Sky. The program targets robust risk controls and scalable, secure stablecoin projects.
Obex has secured $37 million in funding from Framework Ventures, LayerZero, and the Sky ecosystem to launch an incubator program for stablecoins backed by real-world assets. The 12-week program will provide early-stage teams with capital, technical resources, and access to Sky’s infrastructure. Projects that pass risk and governance reviews may qualify for additional capital from Sky, which has authorized up to $2.5 billion in USDS for Obex initiatives. The incubator aims to bring institutional-grade risk controls to stablecoins, focusing on high-quality collateral such as compute credits, energy assets, and fintech loans. Each project will be launched as an independent decentralized entity within the Sky ecosystem. The initiative seeks to address failures in synthetic stablecoins by emphasizing robust risk management and aims to scale stablecoins safely using Sky’s infrastructure. The next cohort of the Obex incubator is targeted for early 2026, positioning the program as a reference point for digital assets tied to real-world resources.
