Fake BlackRock Aster ETF Filing Exposed—CZ Sets Record Straight

A fake BlackRock Staked Aster ETF filing spread online, causing brief ASTER price volatility. Binance's CZ debunked the rumor, stressing the need for verified information. ASTER fundamentals remain strong.

A fake screenshot claiming BlackRock had filed for a Staked Aster ETF circulated widely on social media, misleading traders and influencers. The image, which mimicked an official SEC document, was quickly debunked as photoshopped, with formatting errors and no record in the SEC database. Influencers initially shared the image as legitimate but later admitted the mistake. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao publicly clarified the situation, stating the filing was fake and emphasizing that Aster does not need fabricated hype to grow. Despite the rumor, ASTER's fundamentals remained strong, with daily trading volume reaching $6 billion, over 200,000 holders, and significant token buybacks and burns. The incident highlighted the rapid spread of misinformation in the crypto market and the importance of verifying news before sharing. Official SEC filings confirm there is no BlackRock ETF for Aster, and the real BlackRock filing was for an Ethereum-based ETF. The ASTER token experienced brief price volatility due to the rumor but returned to its previous trading range.
