Binance has announced that it has compensated 90% of the assets stolen during a recent hacking incident, in which approximately $6.3 billion was taken. To cover the losses, the company allocated over $6.34 billion of its own funds, including resources from the Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU), valued at around $1 billion. The remaining 10% of the stolen assets consists of tokens with lower liquidity, making them harder to acquire in the necessary amounts. Binance is continuing to purchase these tokens until all affected assets are fully covered. The company emphasized that users will not bear any financial consequences, as Binance is absorbing the entire loss. User withdrawals are resuming according to the previously established schedule. The incident has also prompted other crypto exchanges to enhance their security measures.
