$35M lost as three crypto protocols hacked in hours
Three crypto protocols lost over $35M in hours due to compromised keys and logic flaws, exposing ongoing cross-chain vulnerabilities in DeFi security.
Within a few hours, three crypto protocols—AFX Trade, VerusCoin’s Ethereum bridge, and B2 Network—suffered separate cyberattacks, losing over $35 million in total. AFX Trade was hit hardest, with about $24.15 million stolen after attackers compromised validator signing keys on its Arbitrum bridge. VerusCoin’s Ethereum bridge lost around $7.5 million due to a similar vulnerability, repeating an exploit first seen in May. B2 Network also fell victim, losing approximately $3.86 million after an attacker gained control of its staking contract’s upgrade authority. These incidents highlight persistent vulnerabilities in cross-chain infrastructure, particularly those involving compromised keys and logic errors. The rapid succession of attacks has raised fresh concerns about DeFi protocol security and ongoing risks in the crypto ecosystem.
