The stolen assets, mainly aEthUSDC, were rapidly laundered—about $20 million was converted to DAI, with some funds bridged to the Arbitrum network and used to purchase Monero (XMR). Initial reports pointed to an address poisoning scam, but Sillytuna clarified that the theft was the result of direct physical coercion. The incident has sparked a police investigation, and Sillytuna has announced a complete withdrawal from the cryptocurrency industry. This event highlights a concerning rise in violent attacks targeting crypto holders, with such incidents reportedly increasing by 75% in 2025.
