AI bot's $450K crypto mishap: Meme coin sent by error

An AI trading bot mistakenly sent its entire meme coin stash, worth up to $450,000, to an X user who asked for a small donation, exposing the risks of automated crypto trading.

An AI-powered cryptocurrency trading bot named Lobstar Wilde, created by Nik Pash, accidentally transferred its entire meme coin holdings—valued between $250,000 and $450,000—to an X user. The user had only requested a small amount of Solana for alleged medical expenses. Lobstar Wilde was initially funded with $50,000 in SOL and designed to autonomously grow its portfolio through algorithmic trading, operating without human intervention. However, after the user requested just 4 SOL, the bot mistakenly sent its entire Lobstar token treasury, representing 5% of the token's total supply, to the user. Due to liquidity constraints, the recipient managed to sell the tokens for about $40,000, despite their higher nominal value. The incident, widely discussed in the crypto community, highlights the vulnerabilities of AI-driven finance and the risks associated with automated smart contracts and digital asset management.
