GANA Payment Loses $3.1M in BNB Chain Exploit, Token Plummets

GANA Payment lost over $3.1 million in a BNB Chain exploit, with funds laundered via Tornado Cash. The breach caused a 90% token price drop and prompted an emergency investigation.

GANA Payment, a decentralized payment project on the BNB Chain, suffered a major security breach on November 20, 2025, resulting in losses exceeding $3.1 million. The attacker executed the exploit by draining funds from GANA’s contracts, consolidating assets, and quickly laundering approximately $1.04 million in BNB and $1.05 million in ETH through Tornado Cash on both BNB Chain and Ethereum. An additional $1.04 million in ETH remains dormant in the attacker’s wallet, raising concerns about further movements. The breach occurred shortly after GANA Payment launched its decentralized payment framework, which aimed to improve remittance efficiency and lower fees. The project’s token price plummeted over 90% following the incident. GANA Payment confirmed the compromise of its interaction contract and has initiated an emergency investigation with external security experts. The team plans to review affected user addresses, rebuild parts of the system, and share a recovery plan. The exploit highlights persistent vulnerabilities in DeFi projects, with calls for improved security audits and contract design.
