Binance Freezes Card Withdrawals for Ukrainians—What’s Next?
Binance has suspended Visa and Mastercard withdrawals and deposits for Ukrainian users due to regulatory changes affecting its partner Bifinity. Alternatives like SWIFT and P2P remain available, while Zen.com services are paused until January 2026.
Binance has suspended withdrawals and deposits via Visa and Mastercard cards for Ukrainian users, following regulatory changes affecting its payment partner Bifinity UAB in Lithuania. The suspension, effective from late December 2025, impacts users who previously relied on card-based transactions for fiat withdrawals and deposits in euros or hryvnias. Binance clarified that the changes apply only to users who used Bifinity services and are not related to Ukraine’s central bank. While card-based services are paused, users can still deposit funds and purchase crypto using Visa and Mastercard for inbound transactions, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Alternatives such as SWIFT transfers and peer-to-peer (P2P) trading remain available, though SEPA transfers and the Zen.com payment platform are temporarily limited, with Zen.com expected to resume full functionality in early January 2026. Recurring crypto purchases and fiat-based limit buy orders are also paused. The move comes amid increased regulatory scrutiny in Europe, adding complexity for Ukrainian users already facing financial restrictions.
