CFTC Unites Crypto and Finance Leaders in Innovation Council

The CFTC has formed the CEO Innovation Council, uniting crypto and traditional finance leaders to advise on derivatives market reforms, tokenization, and blockchain infrastructure.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has established the CEO Innovation Council, bringing together leaders from major crypto firms such as Gemini, Kraken, Polymarket, and Bitnomial, alongside executives from traditional financial institutions like Nasdaq, CME Group, Intercontinental Exchange, and Cboe Group. The council aims to advise on market structure developments in derivatives markets, focusing on areas such as tokenization, crypto assets, 24/7 trading, perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and blockchain infrastructure. This initiative is part of the CFTC’s broader efforts to modernize market regulation, including a pilot program for using crypto collateral in derivatives markets and the approval of regulated spot crypto trading. The council is expected to provide a direct channel between regulators and industry leaders, offering diverse perspectives to shape policies that support innovation while maintaining market integrity. The CFTC’s recent actions align with national directives to promote digital asset policy and reinforce the U.S. position as a leader in financial innovation.
