Revolut has secured a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) license in Gibraltar for its new subsidiary, Revolut Global Digital Assets Limited. This license, granted by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission under the Financial Services Act, allows Revolut to execute orders on virtual assets, offer custody, and provide staking services within a regulated framework. With this regulatory approval, Revolut has resumed onboarding new customers residing in Gibraltar, who can now access the company’s payment app and electronic money services. The new license significantly broadens the range of crypto services Revolut can offer in the territory. This move supports Revolut’s international expansion strategy, which already includes over 80 million customers worldwide, with 16 million using cryptoasset services. Gibraltar authorities noted growing interest from major companies in their DLT regime and anticipate issuing more licenses soon.
