Judiciary verifies Manuel Adorni’s Bitcoin wallets
Authorities verified eight Bitcoin wallets declared by Manuel Adorni to justify nearly $600,000. A cryptographic test was conducted, and police will analyze if he controlled these accounts from 2014 to 2018.
The investigation into Manuel Adorni’s assets advanced as authorities verified eight Bitcoin wallets he declared to justify holding around $591,000 in cryptocurrencies. Adorni’s defense submitted the wallets’ access keys in a sealed envelope and performed a cryptographic “challenge message” test to demonstrate control over the wallets. This procedure, conducted at prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita’s office, involved digitally signing messages for each address rather than transferring funds. The Argentine Federal Police will now verify if the signatures match the declared wallets and address 29 technical questions about account control between 2014 and 2018. The prosecution seeks to determine whether Adorni operated these wallets during the specified period and if these activities explain the origin of his assets. The forensic analysis results will be added to the judicial file.
