Fairshake launches $30M crypto ad blitz against Brown

Fairshake is spending $30 million to oppose Sherrod Brown’s Ohio Senate bid after the CLARITY Act failed, echoing its previous $40 million campaign against him in 2024.

Fairshake, a crypto-backed super PAC, has pledged $30 million for an advertising and mail campaign to block Sherrod Brown’s return to the U.S. Senate in Ohio. This follows the failure of the CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at clarifying digital asset regulation, which did not pass in Congress. This is Fairshake’s largest expenditure for the 2026 election cycle and mirrors its previous $40 million campaign against Brown in 2024, which contributed to his defeat. Brown, the former Senate Banking Committee chair and a critic of several crypto-backed proposals, now faces Republican Jon Husted, who leads in fundraising. The campaign is widely viewed as a response to Senate Democrats’ opposition to the CLARITY Act. Fairshake and its affiliates retain significant funds for further political action, underscoring the crypto industry’s growing influence in U.S. politics, especially against lawmakers resisting industry-friendly regulation.
