CoinEx announces shutdown and withdrawal deadlines
CoinEx will shut down after nine years, citing market and regulatory pressures. Trading ends September 29, 2026; withdrawals close December 22. CET repurchased at 0.005 USDT. Unclaimed USDT faces a custody fee.
CoinEx, a cryptocurrency exchange with nearly nine years of operation, has announced it will cease operations and begin an orderly wind-down. The decision comes amid a prolonged market downturn, declining trading activity and liquidity, and rising regulatory and compliance costs. The shutdown process began on September 15, 2026, with new user registrations and referral rewards halted, and futures set to reduce-only mode. All non-spot services ended on September 22, and spot trading will cease on September 29. At that time, all CoinEx Token (CET) in user accounts will be repurchased at 0.005 USDT per CET. Withdrawals will remain open until December 22, 2026, after which the platform will close. Any unwithdrawn USDT will be moved to independent custody with a 5% monthly fee. CoinEx assures users that its asset reserves exceed 100%, ensuring full withdrawal of user assets. CoinEx Wallet and CoinEx Vault will continue to operate separately from the exchange shutdown.
