Stripe’s Bridge gains EU MiCA approval for stablecoin services
Bridge, owned by Stripe, joins the EU MiCA register after Luxembourg approval, enabling regulated stablecoin and euro payment services across all 27 EU states.
Stripe-owned Bridge has joined the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) register as an authorized electronic money token issuer, following dual regulatory approval in Luxembourg. This milestone allows Bridge to offer regulated stablecoin and euro payment services across all 27 EU member states under a unified regulatory framework. Bridge secured both a Crypto-Asset Service Provider authorization and an Electronic Money Institution license from Luxembourg’s financial regulator. With this addition, the number of MiCA-authorized electronic money token issuers in the EU increases to 42. Additionally, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has registered three new crypto asset service providers from Germany, bringing the total number of authorized CASPs in the EU to 324. These developments enable businesses to issue custom euro-backed stablecoins, provide virtual IBANs, and facilitate euro payouts and cross-border transfers, supporting enterprise treasury operations and interbank settlements via stablecoin infrastructure.
