Uniswap unveils permissioned pools for regulated assets

Uniswap's Permissioned Pools in v4 enable compliant trading of regulated assets, with protocol-level checks and issuer-controlled access, bridging DeFi and traditional finance.

Uniswap has introduced Permissioned Pools in its v4 protocol, developed in collaboration with partners like Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo. This new framework allows regulated assets—including tokenized funds, equities, and securities—to be traded on Uniswap while enforcing compliance rules directly onchain. Issuers can maintain an allowlist to restrict trading and liquidity provision to approved wallets, ensuring only eligible investors participate. Compliance checks are performed at the protocol level using Uniswap v4 hooks, removing the need for separate trading infrastructure or external verification. Early adopters are already implementing this standard, which is seen as a major step toward bridging traditional finance and DeFi. By enabling compliant trading of real-world assets, Uniswap aims to expand the reach of tokenized assets and set a new benchmark for institutional-grade compliance in decentralized finance.
