Dubai reaches 50 crypto licenses with VARA milestone
Dubai’s VARA has issued its 50th crypto license, with 39 firms fully operational and others finalizing compliance. Recent approvals include CoinCorner and Tribe Tokenisation, underscoring Dubai’s regulated crypto growth.
Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) has achieved a significant milestone by issuing its 50th license to a virtual asset service provider, highlighting the emirate’s rapid rise as a regulated crypto hub. Of the 50 licenses granted, 39 firms were fully operational by the end of 2025, while others are still completing regulatory requirements before launching their services. VARA distinguishes between fully operational licenses and initial approvals, ensuring all firms meet strict compliance standards before serving clients. Recent licensees include CoinCorner Virtual Assets Broker & Dealer Services L.L.C. and Tribe Tokenisation, a platform focused on real-world asset tokenization. Dubai’s two-stage licensing process and transparent regulatory framework set it apart from other major crypto centers, prioritizing innovation, risk management, and sustainable growth while maintaining robust oversight. This approach continues to attract crypto businesses and expand access to regulated digital asset services in the region.
