MAS adds Hyperliquid to Investor Alert List
MAS added Hyperliquid to its Investor Alert List as a public warning. This is not a ban or enforcement action, and Hyperliquid's operations remain unchanged.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has added Hyperliquid, a decentralized trading protocol, to its Investor Alert List (IAL). The IAL is a public warning tool that flags entities which may be wrongly perceived as licensed or regulated by MAS. However, inclusion on the list does not constitute a ban, enforcement action, or a finding of wrongdoing. Hyperliquid clarified that it has never claimed to be licensed or authorized by MAS. The protocol emphasized that its operations remain unchanged, with users retaining self-custody and all trades settled on-chain. The listing serves as a caution to Singaporean users that MAS protections do not apply to the platform. This move reflects broader regulatory scrutiny of unlicensed crypto exchanges in Singapore. Similar actions have been taken against other major exchanges and DeFi protocols. Hyperliquid stated its commitment to cooperating with global regulators and supporting the development of clear regulatory frameworks for on-chain finance.
