Binance to re-enter Philippines with BlockShoals

Binance will re-enter the Philippines via a partnership with SEC-approved BlockShoals, offering compliant digital asset services under the StratBox sandbox. The supervised rollout starts in late 2026 and lasts at least two years.

Binance is preparing to re-enter the Philippine market through a strategic partnership with BlockShoals Technologies Inc., a local fintech firm approved by the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under its Strategic Sandbox (StratBox) framework. This collaboration comes after a rigorous two-year application and compliance process, following Binance's previous operational restrictions due to licensing issues. BlockShoals, registered as a Crypto Asset Intermediary, will act as the local intermediary, while Binance will provide global technology, security, and compliance support. The initiative aims to establish a compliant and secure digital asset ecosystem, enabling supervised testing of new financial models within a controlled regulatory environment. The sandbox phase will begin in the second half of 2026 and last at least two years, with both companies operating under direct SEC supervision. This move is designed to address regulatory requirements, enhance investor protection, and foster responsible innovation in the Philippine digital asset market.
