Plume launches first regulated onchain vaults in Bermuda
Plume obtained a Bermuda Class M license, enabling its KDAB unit to launch the first regulated onchain vaults, offering global access to tokenized assets with robust regulatory and AML controls.
Plume has secured a Class M Digital Asset Business License from the Bermuda Monetary Authority for its subsidiary, Kimber Digital Assets Bermuda ISAC Ltd. (KDAB). This milestone makes Plume the first regulated onchain vault manager under Bermuda’s Digital Asset Business Act 2018. With this license, Plume can launch regulated onchain vaults, allowing users to deposit assets, receive proportional vault tokens, earn yield, and redeem at net asset value. All operations are managed via smart contracts with integrated AML and KYC controls, ensuring compliance and security. The vaults are globally accessible and bring traditional asset-management mechanics onchain while maintaining regulatory oversight and reserve-backed structures. Plume’s model is similar to exchange-traded funds but operates entirely on blockchain infrastructure. This approval places Plume alongside major digital asset firms in Bermuda, such as Circle, Coinbase, and Kraken, supporting its strategy to make tokenized institutional assets usable in DeFi markets. Plume has also partnered with Centrifuge and Anemoy for regulated treasury vaults, and its Genesis mainnet has already facilitated over $150 million in real-world asset capital deployed on-chain.
