Polymarket Gets CFTC Green Light for Full US Comeback

Polymarket has secured CFTC approval to operate as a regulated, intermediated exchange in the U.S., enabling broker and user access through traditional financial infrastructure and meeting federal compliance standards.

Polymarket, a leading prediction market platform, has received an Amended Order of Designation from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), allowing it to resume operations as a fully regulated, intermediated exchange in the United States. This regulatory approval enables Polymarket to onboard brokerages, futures commission merchants, and users directly, providing access through traditional custody, clearing, and reporting systems. The platform has implemented advanced surveillance, compliance, and consumer protection protocols to meet federal exchange standards. The approval follows Polymarket’s acquisition of QCX LLC and QC Clearing, which provided the legal foundation for its compliant return to the U.S. market. With this designation, Polymarket will operate under the same regulatory framework as other federally regulated exchanges, subject to the Commodity Exchange Act and full CFTC oversight. The move is expected to boost credibility, expand the user base, and encourage wider adoption of prediction markets within the cryptocurrency ecosystem, signaling increased regulatory acceptance of innovative financial platforms.
