CAEX raises $380M, joins Vietnam’s regulated crypto pilot

CAEX raised $380M from OKX Ventures and HashKey Capital, meeting Vietnam’s requirements for a regulated crypto trading pilot and supporting its compliance and growth.

Vietnam Prosperity Crypto Asset Exchange (CAEX) has secured significant investments from OKX Ventures and HashKey Capital, joining founding partners VPBank Securities and LynkiD. This funding boosts CAEX’s capital to 10 trillion Vietnamese dong (about $380 million), meeting the minimum required to join Vietnam’s government pilot program for regulated crypto trading under Resolution 05/2025. The Digital Technology Industry Law, effective since January 2024, officially recognizes crypto assets and sets a framework for comprehensive regulation, including a pilot licensing scheme for domestic exchanges. The initiative aims to reduce offshore exchange dominance and improve oversight of capital flows. OKX Ventures and HashKey Capital will support CAEX in technical infrastructure, security, compliance, and risk management. CAEX is positioning itself as one of the first local exchanges to operate under the new regulatory framework, reflecting Vietnam’s move toward localization and greater institutional confidence in digital finance.
