Kalshi opens D.C. office to boost policy engagement

Kalshi opens a D.C. office, hires policy experts, and reports record trading volumes as it seeks to influence U.S. prediction market regulations.

Prediction market platform Kalshi has opened a new office in Washington, D.C., signaling a major step in expanding its lobbying and policy engagement with U.S. federal and state governments. To lead these efforts, Kalshi appointed John Bivona, a political strategist with over 20 years of experience, as its first Head of Federal Government Relations. Blake Bee, formerly responsible for state and local public policy at Amazon, will oversee state-level initiatives. This expansion comes as Kalshi reports record trading volumes, with annualized figures reaching up to $100 billion and monthly volumes at $6.58 billion. These milestones position Kalshi as a leading CFTC-regulated prediction market. The new office aims to promote responsible innovation, secure federal oversight, and foster ongoing dialogue with policymakers amid heightened regulatory scrutiny. Kalshi's move underscores the growing influence of prediction markets and its commitment to shaping the regulatory landscape.
